Natalia

Natalia may appear as just a name put up on a piece, but to me it is much more than that.
Natalia is the one who encouraged me to believe in myself and my art, showering me with support and affection. Natalia is the one who stayed in my darkest hours. Natalia is my soulmate.
This piece, my first original subject, is how I celebrate what she represents to me. Trying to portray her features, the subtle undertones of her skin and its silky texture, that I know like the back of my hand, was at the same time challenging and fascinating.
Translating the love I have for her into strokes of light and color allows me to convey how I see her with my heart’s eyes to those who have never met her. This piece serves the purpose to let the strength of mind and sensitivity of the extraordinary woman I love and admire shine through the canvas.
