"Leaf Joy" began with a hard pastel underpainting fixed with Gamsol. The inspiration for the leaf theme was inspired by the shapes of the charcoal marks and the acrylic markings. Ink patterning was added as well as some acrylic patterning for textural effect. The resulting image spoke to me of a plant's joy in the arrival of spring.
