This painting was born in an important and heavy historical moment. I conceived and painted it during the pandemic. I think it was somehow a little dark age, a little dark ages. I have repeatedly had the feeling of living in a darkness, from which there was no way out, in which men have brought out the worst sides of themselves. I think only the light of culture, of spirit, of integrity can guide us through this darkness to salvation.
