(2023) Landscape. South Africa. I rubbed in a value layer with Nu-pastel using pipe foam insulation and then painted over the lower half with clear Gesso and an old course paintbrush to create a grassy texture. After that dried I followed that with soft pastel. I'd never used clear gesso in the middle of a pastel before.
