African Hoopoe Trinkets
I was born and raised in South Africa and from a young age I fell in love with the African Hoopoe bird. Watching this mohawk-ed bird strut around the garden is a childhood memory I won't forget. Now living in Brooklyn, New York, I have amassed a large collection of hoopoe memorabilia. Every time I go back to South Africa I get another one. Many are beaded ornaments sold by local craftsmen at the side of the road. The still life is done with Rembrandt pastels on Canson sanded paper. All bought from Dakota Pastels of course.
