When the world settles down

Purring releases endorphins in cats, and it can do the same thing in humans, too. Lowered stress hormones are helpful for healing, lowering blood pressure, and helping people cope with illness. I only know that nothing quiets down the noise of the world like a purring cat in your lap at the end of the day.

This drawing began with a 2B pencil and a line, or contour, drawing. Pastel pencils were then used to apply the first light layers of pastel to the paper. Additional layers were applied with the pencils being used less as softer pastels are introduced. Pencils are brought back into the process for blending purposes until the desired result is achieved.
