As for underpainting, I used acrylic ink and then some pastel layers with rubbing alcohol, and finally the dry layers of pastel. I was influenced by the happenings in Europe as this painting was done in the summer after Russia attacked Ukraine. I wanted this painting to have a very dramatic outlook.
