Transcendence

This piece was inspired by a vacation to the Great Smoky Mountains. We hiked the national park, which was full of inspiration! This painting is of Juney Whank Falls, and it was done on my last piece of Wallis Belgian Mist paper. I did a rather detailed underpainting with pastels and an alcohol wash to set the colors of the rocks in before laying the waterfall itself over the top.
