I used 500 UArt paper and a mixture of soft pastels, Rembrandt, Schminke, Sennelier, and Richeson. I used an alcohol wash and layered pastels on top. I was focusing on texture and energy. It was a cold, winter day when I painted this picture and I was thinking warm thoughts of Spring.
