Winter's Light

The warm light coming from the home and the cool light on the snow from the post lamps and street lights captured my interest as they illuminated the trees and the snow on the ground this particular winter night. I remember vocally responding to the scene in front of me and knew I wanted to capture the moment. I created this painting on a black toned multi-media board then layered various soft pastels to achieve the effects that I wanted. This painting has special meaning since the home once belonged to a dear friend who has since moved and it is a reminder of our friendship and the good times we had together.
